insurrection progress report #1


it's been a long while since I've posted here, hasn't it?

I'm sure the like 5 people who follow this game are under the impression that development on this has ended or died, or that this game is stuck within development limbo, but I'm making this post to prove otherwise.

despite the silence, a lot has been added, changed, and fixed since the now-ancient 14th build, including but not limited to:

ammo has been fully reintroduced to the game in order to assist with balancing 

- the sniper rifle has had its scope removed in favor of simple ironsights, and regenerates your health upon landing a headshot. it also penetrates enemies.

the machine gun is now capable of storing heat from sustained fire and releasing it in a firey blast that ignites all unfortunate enough to have been close to you when you unleash this attack; shooting enemies lit ablaze will generate spare ammo.

the tower level has been partially revamped, boasting a new arena as well as a bit of a new path to getting to the tower.

I've decided to go all-in on the "character-action" aspect of this game, adding a style meter/HUD akin to Ultrakill. I feel this will greatly compliment the still-planned adaptive difficulty in the future.

the rocket/grenade launcher now fires a proper grenade with a somewhat small blast radius, but still deals devastating amounts of damage.

player physics have been completely reworked, allowing full interaction with physics objects and allowing you to perform a rocket jump that sends you hurtling into the sky, giving you a considerable height advantange over the enemy.

with that being said, I hope that now knowing this game is far from dead, you have at least a bit of anticipation for the next build - when exactly it'll release I won't say, but I'd shoot for sometime around the end of this month and the start of July.
